For All Prospective Candidates
When you arrive to the interview you will meet the Placement Coordinator. The Placement Coordinator is the person that works directly with the families and determines what candidates are best suited for each job.
DON’T BE LATE
Please check in 5 minutes before your interview time. If you arrive late to your interview time the Placement Coordinator must cancel the interview. Unfortunately, we can’t interview candidates who arrive late because timeliness and time management is the first thing we assess. It is better to call or text if you are running late than to arrive late without notice. Please do not ask to reschedule if you arrive late without notice.
Meeting a Placement Coordinator is the first and most important part of the process of being approved as a Kensington Nanny. You are evaluated in many different ways, both directly and indirectly. The purpose of this is to get an understanding of who you are so that the placement process goes smoothly.
We give every candidate fair and equal consideration using a specific interview process. However, only select candidates are invited to become registered with the agency. You will receive an email decision with 1-2 days after your interview.
BACKGROUND AND INVESTIGATION
If, after your interview, the agency decides to proceed with the next step, we will begin investigation of your background, references and social media. You are not eligible to interview with a family until all of your references are reached. If a reference is not responsive to us then your placement eligibility will be delayed.
DISCUSSING A JOB WITH THE CLIENT COORDINATOR
If you see a good job on the jobs page, we are happy to discuss the job in detail and give you the chance to ask lots of questions.
ACCEPTING A FAMILY JOB INTERVIEW
When you apply to a job you can speak to a Client Coordinator to discuss the details to determine if the job is right for you. You always have the option of accepting or declining the job interview. However, we encourage you to go on all the interviews you’re offered. You never know it could be your dream job!
AFTER THE FAMILY INTERVIEW
Once you’ve met with the family, we want to know what you think! If the family wants to make a job offer the agency will call you with the offer. Upon acceptance, you will receive the work agreement so that you have the job details in writing.
You are prohibited to have contact with the family after the interview without written authorization from the agency. For your benefit, the agency manages all communications with the family on your behalf until you are hired.
ONCE YOU ARE HIRED
Once you are hired by the family they become your employer. This includes daily communication, schedule, pay, time-off, performance reviews, etc. If you ever need assistance or advice please call the agency so we can help.
